CRANE HOOK WARNING SYSTEM
Blokalert safety device designed from blank sheet.
DELIVERED AT A GLANCE
A construction and lifting client needed a warning system that could be mounted directly on the crane hook block to give site workers a clear audible and visual signal during active lifting. Nothing like this existed off the shelf. MeoMech was engaged to consult on the mechanical approach and design the electromechanical system from scratch.
Crane operations remain one of the highest-risk activities on construction sites. As safety regulations tighten and site operators face increasing accountability for worker protection, the demand for reliable, purpose-built warning systems that function in harsh site conditions continues to grow.

"Industrial design meets safety engineering. When the environment tries to destroy your system, the design has to account for it."Dr. Henri L.Senior Physicist
The hook block endures daily vibration, impact, rain, dust, and temperature swings. The alert system had to cut through site noise and stay visible from multiple angles and distances, while the housing protected internal electronics without adding weight that would affect hook block operations.
The housing was designed around how a construction site operates. Alert placement was resolved for maximum audible and visual reach across working distances. The internal layout prioritised serviceability so components could be accessed and replaced. Detailed manufacturing drawings were delivered to the client for production.
A complete electromechanical design package ready for manufacture. The device mounts directly to the hook block and provides the audible and visual warnings that keep site workers informed during active lifting, a direct contribution to safer operations across construction environments.
